7 Features Every Ironing Board Should Have

Features Of The Boardmann XL Wide Ironing Board

Buying an ironing board is not something that most people give a great deal of thought to, but as with most things in life, a little research can deliver a lot of benefits in the case of an ironing board for many years to come. This article is written with the intention of informing you the reader of the seven features every ironing board may have. At Boardmann these seven features were the key consideration for our design department when developing our most popular product, the Boardmann XL Ironing board. So let’s examine those reasons, and help you to become better informed before you buy your new ironing board.

Extra Wide Fit

Without a doubt and as the name of the product suggests the most important aspect of any ironing board, in our opinion, is the width of the ironing surface. This is because the larger the ironing surface area, the quicker you can complete the ironing process. Let’s be honest nobody particularly enjoys ironing, we all have busy lives and so the less time that it takes to iron the more time you have available to do other things that you may or at least should enjoy more! Our research has shown that on average, households that have invested in a Boardmann XL Large Ironing Board. The simple fact of the matter is that once you have experienced the benefits of the Boardmann XL Large Ironing Board, you will never want to use another ironing board again!!

Strong Stable Frame

Another factor that many people tend to overlook when purchasing an ironing board is the quality of the materials used. This is important for two main reasons, firstly although you may not think about it an iron particularly the modern powerful ones can weigh a significant amount, and you want to be confident when placing such a heavy item on the board that it can not only take the weight, but that it will be stable whilst you are ironing. The second factor you need to consider is that hopefully you will have that ironing board for many years, and believe it or not an ironing board does take quite a bit of battering when being put in and taken out of cupboards. At Boardmann we are so confident in the quality of our boards, and the materials we use that we offer a 3-year guarantee. This means that whilst our board might be a little more expensive you can be confident that it will last longer, and slash your ironing time in half.

Unique Shape Designed To Fit Your Shirts and Blouses Perfectly

Shirts and blouses are not the easiest items of clothing to iron, but they are one of the most frequent types of clothing that need to be ironed. Sometimes on a standard ironing board, it can be quite the challenge to get a shirt or a blouse to sit perfectly on the board so it can be ironed. That is where the unique shape and design of the Boardmann XL comes into play. With its specially contoured design shirts and blouses when placed on the ironing board, simply don’t move. They fit the shape of the board; it’s almost like you have a second pair of hands to help the garment on the ironing board for you. And in addition due to the unique shape, the shirt or blouse is spread out properly to make ironing easier.

Double Layer of Foam

Have you ever tried to iron on a tiled service or other non-smooth service? If you have you will no doubt have experienced the pattern of the surface being transferred onto the item of clothing in question, which in turn negates the benefit of ironing the item in the first place. The ideal surface to iron on is firm enough to provide the appropriate support but has a little give in it and the surface needs to be smooth. Foam is universally accepted as the perfect solution, but because we wanted to develop the ultimate ironing board we decided to use a double layer of support to not only stretch the clothes better but also to provide a better surface upon which to iron.

Mesh Back

Steam is the secret weapon when it comes to getting rid of stubborn creases, but the priority when ironing is to ensure that the water from the steam does not get trapped. In other words, the ultimate solution is that the steam passes through the clothes and then continues on its journey. The only way to achieve this is to have a mesh-backed ironing board where the holes allow the steam to escape. The Boardmann XL ironing board has a mesh back surface for this exact reason ensuring that the water from the steam does not get trapped between the ironing board and the clothing and is able to escape whilst removing any creases in the process.

Non-Slip Cover

In addition to the specially designed shape of our ironing board, the other element that we have focused on is a non-slip cover, which helps to ensure that your clothes stay on the ironing board and don’t slide off. Although this may seem like a relatively minor thing, it is this type of attention to detail which sets the Boardmann XL apart from the competition.

Hang Rail Steam Iron Rest

If you are investing in an XL ironing board it is safe to assume that you have a lot of ironing to do and that potentially you may also invest in a high-quality iron. Some of the most powerful irons can have separate water bases and as a consequence are both larger than a typical iron and heavier. Even if you have a standard-sized iron you want to retain the maximum ironing space possible, which is why we designed our Bordmann XL ironing board with a hang rail steam iron rest. This strong and stable rest does not impact the ironing surface whatsoever and provides and safe and secure surface to place your iron base on while you work.

As you can see at Boardmann we are obsessed with delivering the ultimate ironing board, which is why over 95 per cent of our customers would never use another ironing board.
